ABOUT THE DAWGS
Mama B-Dawg - Australian Cigar Box Guitar Player
Singer. Songwriter. Cigar box shredder. Professional bad influence.
Straight outta the Aussie bush or the pub, Mama B-Dawg is a cigar-smokin’, whiskey-drinkin’ troubadour with a growl in her voice and a twinkle in her eye. She wrangles her homemade cigar box guitar like it owes her money, belting out bluesy tales of love, mischief, and life gone delightfully sideways.
Equal parts sass, soul, and sawdust, Mama B-Dawg doesn’t just play music — she lives it, laughs at it, and raises a glass to it. Catch her live and you’ll swear the devil himself just ordered another round.
With a voice husky enough to sand timber and a grin that say she probably wrote this one after a few, Mama B-Dawg brings the kind of foot-stompin’, soul-shakin’ energy that makes you wanna raise your glass, kick off your boots, and join the mayhem.
One thing’s for sure — when Mama B-Dawg hits the stage, it’s never a quiet night.
Now, Mama B-Dawg wasn’t born with a cigar box in her hands… but it was destined to find its way there! After plucking her way through the banjo world, she stumbled across a YouTube video of the mighty Shane Speal wrangling one of DB’s custom Cigar Box Guitars—and that was it. Hook, line, and whiskey bottle!
Next thing you know, she’s got herself a locally made 3-string, orders a shiny resonator beauty from DB Custom Guitars in Canada, and names her new partner-in-crime Della. The banjo started gathering dust while the Cigar Box magic took over.
Now fronting the Barrel Dawg Band, Mama B-Dawg belts out swampy, foot-stompin’ blues-rock that growls with grit and soul—powered by 3 and 4 strings, a shot of Aussie attitude, and maybe a whiff of good cigar smoke.
